Holiday In Lieu Negotiations
We are currently in negotiations to eliminate the possibility of an employee at Port Newark to lose Sunday pay in exchange for the “in lieu of” day based on when that Holiday falls on any particular day. We have researched this process at multiple ports finding a multitude of differences. Many ports simply move it to another day before, many move to another day after, and many ports let is fall on any given day based on their algorithm and if it falls on a Sunday they do in fact lose the Sunday differential. We will be forthcoming with our results.
